1830

A Czech glass works master, František Kavalír, has started manufacturing laboratory and technical glass in leased glass-works in Ostředek.

 

1837

František Kavalír has erected his own glass works in Sázava and started production on 5 June.

 

1847

German professional journal Annale für Chemie Pharmazie has published the first international analysis and report on Kavalír‘s Sázava glass.

 

1855

Kavalír’s Glass Works displays its glass at the International Exhibition in Paris and is awarded a Certificate of Merit.

 

1857

The first issue of catalogue and price list of laboratory glass and apparatuses made by Sázava glass works comes out

 

1861

An independent exhibition of laboratory glass produced by Kavalír’s Glass Works is awarded a gold medal at the International Exhibition in London

 

1870

Founder’s son, Antonín Kavalier, has developed UNEXCELLED-brand, a special heat-resistant laboratory glass

 

1884

In Sázava, Josef Kavalier has completed construction of the second glass-works, called František, equipped with a modern regenerative, producer wood gas-fired furnace

 

1901

The city of Sázava and the glass works have been connected with the outside world through Kolín-Čerčany railway line

 

1902

Josef and Vladimír Kavalier have their another, already third, glass-works (called Joseph) built

 

1908

Vladimír Kavalier performs successfully the first melting of borosilicate laboratory glass, the future PALEX, in Sázava

 

1919

With premature decease of Vladimír Kavalier business activities of the glass works founder’s family have been terminated, the glass works development, however, has continued

 

1922

A modern plant, the fourth glass-works (called Vladimír), has been put into operation in Sázava

 

1923

The first borosilicate PALEX-brand laboratory glass has been introduced on the market. At the same time, Kavalier Glass Works has started manufacturing household boiling glassware

 

1935

Kavalier Glass Works has developed further special types of borosilicate glass - ISIS (for technical lighting fittings), NEUTRAL (for medical packaging) and K 35 (new laboratory boiling glassware with chemical durability)

 

1947

The first stage of Sázava glass works reconstruction and modernization has been started, and, simultaneously, borosilicate glass tubes mechanical production has been launched

 

1952

Kavalier Glass Works has developed 4.8 - SIAL Grade laboratory borosilicate glass and introduced it on the market

 

1958

In Sázava plant, SIMAX laboratory borosilicate boiling glassware has been developed, and, the product proved to be fully compatible with 3.3 Grade types of international glass

 

1968

The second stage of the plant reconstruction and modernization has been initiated, and, the glass electric melting technology has been introduced and SIMAX heat resistant household pressed and hollow boiling glassware has been launched on the market

 

1980

A systematic technological upgrade has been commenced. The second generation automatic machines have been put into operation in the mechanical production

 

1990

As of 1 December, Kavalier Glass Works, hitherto a State Enterprise, has become a Joint-Stock Company

 

1994

Starting from 15 February, shares of Kavalier Glass Works, Co. Ltd., have been listed on the Prague Stock Exchange

 

1995

The company has been awarded an international ISO 9002 Certificate

 

2009

The company of Sklárny Kavalier, a.s. was bought by the OJGAR group and the glassworks company was given a new name of KAVALIERGLASS, a.s.
